从1840年鸦片战争到1949年新中国成立，是中国人民灾难深重的一百年，也是中国人民通过自身努力，打破旧世界，建立新世界，不断探索、不断斗争，不断革命的一百年。秉承先贤忠义精神的忠州儿女，在国家危难、民族危亡的关头，挺身而出，用自己的才智、鲜血和生命，为民族解放、国家富强，做出了自己应有的贡献。

From the Opium War of 1840 to the founding of New China in 1949, Chinese people suffered lots of terrible disasters. It was also one hundred years in which the Chinese people, through their own efforts, broke up the old world, established a new world, constantly explored, struggled incessantly and kept on their revolution. The sons and daughters in Zhongzhou carried on the spirit of loyalty and righteousness of the Four Sages, came forward at the moment when the country and her people were in danger. With their wisdom, blood and lives, they have made their great contribution to the liberation and prosperity of the country.
